After many years of diminishing water production, the well at Huruma Orphanage in Iringa finally ran dry in August 2018. Since then, Huruma Orphanage has been connected to Iringa City water. While the original well had provided fresh, potable water, city water is of lesser quality, is not potable, and entails a significant added expense for the Orphanage. Pastor Chris Smith, from Friends of Huruma, reached out to St Paul Partners to fund together a new deep well for Huruma. Even though the orphanage is on the grid in Iringa, we installed a solar pump to avoid ongoing expensive electricity bills for the orphanage. |
