The College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota has conducted a class called Design for Life: Water in Tanzania that brings a group of 12-14 engineering students to Tanzania during January with support from St Paul Partners. The students study both the details of fluid mechanics along with Tanzanian culture in preparation for their trip. Groups of 4 or 5 students spend several days in a village accessing learning about their situation and developing a solution for their water needs. The trip in 2020 was the 7th year in a row for this class and you can read their trip blog here. The video below was prepared by students for their final report for the Magome Project.
